About AAC
Austin Animal Center (AAC) is the largest no-kill shelter in the United States. It provides shelter for over 23,000 animals a year, accepting stray and owner-surrendered animals regardless of age, health, species or breed. The definition of “no-kill” is that at least 90% of the animals that enter the shelter have live outcomes – meaning that they are either adopted, fostered by the community, or transferred to a partner rescue organization. AAC and the Austin community has been meeting the no-kill goal since mid-2011. But meeting this goal is a constant struggle and continually demands the best efforts of the shelter, the volunteers, and the Austin animal rescue community. Won’t you join Friends of Austin Animal Center in helping them to help to save every deserving animal?
